Yes. The herd is born, raised, and finished on our own pastures at 1876 Heritage Farms in Oro-Medonte — the same family, the same land, since 1876. What we sell is what we raise.

Grass-finishing takes months longer than grain-finishing, and pasture-based farming carries more land per animal. You're paying for time and ground. The rule of thumb is about one cubic foot of freezer space per 35–40 lb of packaged beef. A standard kitchen fridge-freezer takes one of our boxes with room to spare; a small chest freezer holds several months' worth.

Yes — cleaner and beefier, with firmer, more mineral fat and less of it. It's leaner, so it rewards slightly gentler heat than grocery-store beef; every recipe in our journal is written for exactly these cuts.

Absolutely — every box can be ordered one-time, no subscription required. If you like the rhythm, the same box can renew every 4 or 8 weeks, and you can skip, pause, or cancel from your account anytime.

Pick a box, pick a rhythm — every 4 weeks or every 8 weeks — and we handle the rest. Your card is charged on your renewal date, the box is packed in that week's Wednesday run, and it arrives Thursday. You'll get a reminder email before each renewal so a charge never surprises you.

Yes. You can skip an upcoming box or cancel the subscription from your account page any time before that week's Sunday cutoff. Skipping pushes your next box back one cycle; cancelling stops future charges. No phone calls, no fine print.

Each box page lists its current contents. Boxes are built from what the farm actually has — cuts and quantities can vary a little with the season, and the box page is always the source of truth for what ships this cycle.

Sunday at 11:59 PM Eastern, every week. Orders placed by then are packed Wednesday and delivered Thursday. Order later and you're in the following week's run.

By credit or debit card at checkout — payments are processed by Square. For subscriptions, your card is kept securely on file with Square and charged each renewal; we never see or store the card number ourselves.

We deliver across Ontario: $12 flat to the GTA, $18 flat elsewhere in Ontario, free over $250 — or pick up at the farm in Oro-Medonte for no fee. Outside Ontario we can't ship yet.
